Options

Text and font
One line in Helvetica, Times or Courier. These standard fonts cover Western European letters, digits and common symbols.
Size, colour and opacity
Lower opacity keeps the page readable underneath; 20–35% works well.
Angle
From −90° to 90°. 45° runs diagonally up the page.
Layout
Centred puts one watermark in the middle of each page. Tiled repeats it across the whole page.
Pages
Leave empty for every page, or enter ranges like 1, 3-5.

Questions

Can the watermark be removed?

It is added on top of the page as ordinary PDF text. That discourages casual reuse, but someone with a PDF editor could delete it. For stronger protection, convert the pages to images afterwards.

Why can’t I use emoji or Chinese characters?

The standard PDF fonts only include Western European characters. PDF Tinker tells you which characters it can’t show.
