How to convert PDF pages to images

  1. Add a PDF. All pages start selected; click thumbnails to leave some out.
  2. Choose the format and resolution.
  3. Select Convert. One page downloads as an image; several arrive as a ZIP such as report-images.zip, with files like report-page-01.jpg.

Options

Format
JPG makes smaller files and suits photos and scans. PNG is lossless: best for text, diagrams and screenshots.
Resolution
Dots per inch. 150 DPI suits screens, 300 DPI suits printing. An A4 page at 300 DPI is 2480 × 3508 pixels.
JPG quality
Higher keeps more detail and makes bigger files; 85–92% is a good balance.

Password-protected PDFs work here too: you’ll be asked for the password, which is only used inside this tab.

Questions

Why is an image smaller than the DPI I chose?

Very large pages are scaled down to stay within the browser’s canvas limit of about 16 megapixels, so they render reliably on every device.

Is the text in the images searchable?

No. The images are pictures of the pages. Keep the PDF if you need selectable text.
