Merge PDF

Merge PDF files

Put several PDFs together in the order you choose, and keep only the pages you need from each. Nothing is uploaded.

Files are never uploaded

Drop PDFs to merge

Add two or more files. You can reorder them and pick pages next.

Processed locally. Nothing leaves your device.

How to merge PDFs

  1. Add two or more PDFs by dropping them on the workbench or choosing them.
  2. Put the files in order: drag a row by its handle, or use the up and down arrows.
  3. Optionally type page ranges for a file, such as 1-3, 7. Leave the box empty to include every page.
  4. Select Merge PDFs. The new file is named after the first one, like report-merged.pdf.

Page ranges

Separate pages and ranges with commas. 5- means page 5 to the end, -3 means the first three pages, and a reversed range such as 9-7 adds those pages backwards. You can repeat a page to include it twice.

Want to fine-tune single pages? Merge first, then rearrange the result in Organize PDF.

Questions

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

No fixed limit. Files are combined in your browser’s memory, so the practical limit depends on your device. Dozens of ordinary documents are fine on a laptop.

Do bookmarks and links survive?

Page content, images and comments are kept, and links between pages that end up in the merged file keep working. Bookmark outlines are not copied into the merged file.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not directly. pdf-lib, which does the merging, can’t decrypt files. Save an unprotected copy from your PDF reader first.
